Dr Serene Ong
Principal Dentist, DEN0001784829
Dr Serene grew up in Perth and graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2012. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and strives to listen to her patients to create personalised treatment plans tailored to meet their goals. She is passionate about addressing the root causes of dental problems, rather than simply treating symptoms, so her patients can achieve long-term oral health without ongoing cycles of repair. She believes that education is the key to good oral health – as the saying goes: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
In addition to general dentistry, Dr Serene has a particular interest in Mandibular Advancement Splints for Sleep-Disordered Breathing and is qualified to provide Nitrous Oxide sedation. Dr Serene has also been involved in volunteer dental work to rural communities in Vietnam and has provided care through St Patrick’s Clinic. She values giving back to the community and ensuring that quality dental care is accessible to those in need.
Outside of dentistry, she loves to spend time with her young son and family; and enjoys all things nature such as going to the beach, camping, hiking and spearfishing.
Dr Justin Soon

Justin has extremely high personal standards and will always make every effort to give you the best outcome possible. He enjoys and practices all aspects of dentistry but has focused his practice on surgical and cosmetic aspects such as complex wisdom teeth removal, implant therapy, veneers and crowns. Justin takes the responsibility of transforming his patient’s lives with a custom smile makeover very seriously and to him, is one of the most rewarding aspects of his career.
Justin is one of the most dedicated and passionate dentists in Perth and will constantly strive to provide you with the best experience possible no matter what kind of dental situation you are in. He will never judge you or your teeth and will try his very best to be as gentle as possible.
Being a patient of Justin’s means he will always be available to his patients 24/7 and is happy to talk to you anytime, should you need any advice.
Justin completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Western Australia. Justin first completed his surgical implant training under the mentorship of Dr Glen Liddelow, Dr Graham Carmichael, and Dr Brent Allan at the Branemark Centre . Justin regularly attends world class dental conferences, lectures, and workshops. In 2016, became a graduate from Loma Linda University – School of Dentistry (Implant Continuing Education Program). Furthermore, by demonstrating advanced aesthetic skills in Implant Dentistry, he was designated the title, “Master Clinician”. Continuing his education, Justin has also completed an All-On-X training with Dr Armando Lopes and Dr Ana Ferro from the MALO Clinic in Portugal. It’s a treatment concept that cannot only provide you with a new set of fixed teeth but transform how you feel about your smile completely.
In 2019, Justin successfully received the prestigious Diploma of Implant Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, further affirming his knowledge and passion for implant dentistry.
Justin is also a certified Invisalign provider and can work with you to discuss treatment alternatives that can help you feel more confident in your smile. Constantly committed to learning new techniques and consolidating his knowledge, Justin has been actively involved as a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA), Australian Prosthodontics Society (APS), Australasian Osseointegration Society (AOS) and Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics and Training (AADFA).
Dr Jonathan Lo

Dr Jonathan Lo was born and raised in Perth, and this connection to the local community continues to shape how he practises. He values building long-term relationships with patients and providing care in a supportive and respectful environment.
Dr Jonathan provides a range of general dental services, with a focus on cosmetic and functional rehabilitation, dental implant procedures, and endodontic care. He takes a careful and considered approach to treatment planning, ensuring patients are well-informed and comfortable with their options at each stage.
He graduated from the University of Western Australia with honours in 2015 and received academic awards across several areas of dentistry, including clinical dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, periodontics, and oral pathology. He has also completed a Diploma in Implant Dentistry through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and an MBA (with Distinction) at UWA.
From 2017 to 2022, Dr Jonathan worked as a clinical tutor at the UWA Dental School, supporting the education and development of dental students.
He maintains professional memberships with organisations including the Australian Dental Association, the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons, the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the International Team for Implantology, the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry, and the International Association for Dental Research. He is also a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Dr Jonathan has been involved with the Australian Dental Health Foundation for over a decade, contributing to initiatives that support access to dental care for underserved communities.
Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and gardening. He also speaks Cantonese and is happy to communicate in it where helpful for patients.
Dr Ben Luu

After a lifelong interest in dentistry, Dr Ben studied at The University of Western Australia and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science Honours Degree in 2010. He enjoys attending educational courses to stay up to date on the latest dental technology, techniques, and equipment.
Dr Ben is passionate about his role as a Dentist and enjoys seeing people smile, especially those who haven’t smiled for a while. For Dr Ben, the most fulfilling aspect of being a dentist is seeing the positive changes in patients as their smiles improve.
Helping patients achieve a healthy smile they can’t wait to show off is what makes dentistry ‘more than a job’ to him.
Duties:
Dr Ben is a patient and gentle dentist who aims to help patients keep their teeth for life. He has a special interest in ceramic crown and bridge dentistry.
Qualifications:
Dr Ben graduated from the University of Western Australia with a BDSc (Honours) in 2010. He spent six years in a coastal SA private practice before moving back to sunny Perth to join the team at Genesis Dental in 2016.
Interests outside of Work/Qualities:
When he is out of the clinic, you will find Dr Ben chasing after his cheeky toddler or catching up on the latest NBA highlights. His personal hobbies include travelling, playing basketball or squash, and relaxing with yoga or Pilates.
Dr Jun Liew

Beyond the clinic, family means everything to Dr Jun. He love spending quality time with his wife and two kids, watching sport, and unwinding with a round of golf on the weekend.
Dr Sinya Zheng

As a graduate of the University of Western Australia’s dental program, Dr Sinya brings a unique blend of scientific precision and artistic vision to her dental practice. Her deep appreciation for visual arts enhances her ability to achieve natural-looking, aesthetically pleasing results for her patients.
Drawing from her extensive training in modern dental techniques, Dr Sinya offers gentle, minimally invasive treatments. She creates a warm, welcoming environment where patients of all ages feel comfortable discussing their dental concerns. Being bilingual in English and Chinese Mandarin allows her to better serve our diverse
community.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr Sinya has demonstrated her commitment to public health through volunteer services in rural Western Australia, including the Pilbara region. She actively pursues professional development to bring the latest dental innovations to her practice, providing optimal care for every patient.
Dr Connor Hachey

Dr Connor Hachey grew up in Canning Vale and has strong ties to the local community. He completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of Western Australia. His academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Biomedical Science from the same institution.
Dr Connor provides comprehensive general dentistry services to patients of all ages and backgrounds. He has a particular interest in oral surgery and restorative dentistry. He values building strong, long-term relationships with his patients through open communication and collaborative treatment planning.
Before pursuing dentistry, Dr Connor worked in disability support for nearly a decade. This experience has shaped his caring, patient-centred approach to care. He is committed to creating a welcoming environment where every patient feels comfortable and heard.
Outside of dentistry, Dr Connor is an active ice hockey player and coach. He plays the drums and has a passion for travelling to explore new destinations. He also enjoys spending quality time with his beloved rescue greyhound, Macie.
Dr Elton Wong

Dr Elton takes a patient-centred approach to dentistry, believing that good outcomes are supported by patient education and collaborative treatment planning tailored to individual needs. He is a strong advocate for preventive and maintenance-based care, recognising that long-term oral health plays an important role in overall wellbeing and quality of life.
Known for his calm, approachable manner and country-style friendliness, Dr Elton helps patients of all ages feel comfortable and at ease. He has supported many patients with previous negative dental experiences to feel more at ease in seeking care. He offers a range of sedation options including sleep dentistry, nitrous oxide, and oral sedation to help create a comfortable and calm experience.
Committed to continual growth, Dr Elton regularly attends study clubs and continuing professional development courses to remain current with advances in modern dentistry.
His clinical interests include surgical dentistry, particularly complex wisdom tooth removal, single and multiple dental implants, bone grafting, sinus lifting and guided bone regeneration. He was awarded Fellowship of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (FICOI) in September 2025, has completed further implant training with the Australian Implant Academy, and is undertaking advanced study in full-arch implant rehabilitation in 2026.
Dr Elton also has a strong interest in endodontics and enjoys managing complex molar root canal treatments and retreatment cases. He completed a Mini Residency in Endodontics through the IDEA Institute in San Francisco, where he trained under Dr John West, pioneer of the ProTaper Endodontic System.
In addition, he provides smile rehabilitation through aligner treatment, crowns, and veneers, supporting patients in restoring both function and the aesthetics of their smile. With a keen interest in digital dentistry, Dr Elton integrates modern technologies such as intraoral scanning, digital treatment planning, and 3D printing into everyday clinical care.
Dr Ashleigh Furfaro

Dr Ashleigh earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Western Australia. She enjoys expanding her knowledge of the dentistry world by attending lectures and seminars on various aspects of new dental techniques and advancements.
Dr Ashleigh was meant to be a dentist. Her love of the dental field and commitment to her patients is clear at every appointment. Her favourite aspect of dentistry is making her patients feel at ease during their visits and thrilled with their smiles.
Duties:
Dr Ashleigh provides various dental treatments including fillings, crowns, emergency care, and root canal treatments. She has a special interest in preventive and restorative care.
Qualifications:
Dr Ashleigh completed both her undergraduate Bachelor of Science and postgraduate dental degree (Doctor of Dental Medicine) at the University of Western Australia. She enjoys completing continuing education to stay knowledgeable about the latest technology and techniques in the dental field.
Interests Outside of Work / Qualities:
In her spare time, Dr Ashleigh likes spending time with family, gardening, travelling, or curling up with a good book and a cup of tea. She also spends a good deal of time in the kitchen whipping up a variety of baked goods and sweet treats. Perhaps her most interesting hobby is trying to take her beloved cat Clover on walks.
Fatima Akbari

Fatima is our lovely, caring Oral Health Therapist. Our patients love Fatima’s dedication to oral hygiene, her thoroughness, and her gentle nature, making her a trusted and beloved figure in the practice.
Since entering the dental industry right after high school, Fatima’s passion for delivering patient-centered care has only grown. With experience in various roles including Dental Nurse, Front Office Co-ordinator, and Oral Health Therapist, she has embraced and conquered the challenges of each position.
Duties:
Fatima is particularly skilled and highly enjoys working with children, creating a comfortable environment for them by using creative approaches like fictional stories during treatments. Fatima works part-time at Genesis Dental. On the days she is not here, you can find her providing excellent quality of care at the school dental services.
Fatima is qualified and able to perform examinations (check-ups) on adults and children, scale and cleans, fillings, in-chair whitening as well as taking impressions for mouth guards, splints, retainers and bleaching trays. She also provides minor orthodontic treatment and maintenance alongside our dentists.
Qualifications:
Fatima graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Curtin University in 2022. Fatima speaks fluent Farsi.

Outside of work, she enjoys camping with family and friends. She also has a strong commitment to continuing education, regularly attending dental workshops and lectures to stay updated in her field.
